While a lot of the coaching work I do is based on the connection with soul, I found that there is also a big need to FEEL that wisdom & freedom as embodied truth in every cell of your body. As there is such a big difference in knowing & truly experiencing something.

Qoya moves you out of your head & into your body, and offers you a form of movement & exercise grounded in your soul. Let me explain a bit more; maybe you recognize (parts of) yourself…

  • I love dancing but when you see me in a choreographed or pole dance class, it looks more like a silent stand up comedian performance (read: the arms & legs don’t follow as they are supposed to – funny(?)).
  • I love the idea of accessing my inner wisdom through yoga but when I gather my courage to go to a class; I regret being on that mat after half an hour (read: maybe a bit boring at times?).
  • Hell yes to sports & sweating but why do I always give up after 5 classes? (read: gym feels like torture – who wants that?)

In Qoya, you don’t struggle; you flow, feel alive as you could dance for hours. It feels like ultimate freedom combined with so much joy!

So what is Qoya?

Qoya is an 1,5h-2h movement & embodiment practice for women that brings together yoga, free dance, feminine movement, meditation, sisterhood & most importantly…fun!

It is based on the idea that through movement, we remember.  We remember that who we truly are as women, is WISE, WILD & FREE.

Calling on the wisdom of yoga.

“I am a wise woman who knows what path to take, who trusts herself, and sees the truth through the eyes of love”

The creative expression in dance.

“I am a wild women who thrives as she creatively expresses herself, offering her unique gifts to the world”

Expanding our capacity to enjoy being in our bodies through feminine movement.

“I am a free woman, unbound & limitless in my capacity to revel in & receive joy”

Rochelle Schieck – Founder of Qoya

The vision for Qoya is to give you a map of movements that open the feminine mind, heart, body & soul.

In Qoya, the practice is less about how it looks & more about how it FEELS. It is an invitation to slow down & listen to the wisdom of your body. It is both spontaneous & structured.

You slow down & feel. You sweat. You play & have fun!
You find the answers you seek in your body, as well as the support to follow them.

You also engage in ritual, pilgrimage & community connections to open your heart, mind & spirit.

There is no way you can do Qoya wrong. In fact, the way you know you’re doing it right is when it feels good. Imagine if your life could follow the same rule?
And while it is a movement practice, it also is a women’s circle, a dance class & a wild party. So cool!

Is Qoya a traditional fitness class?

Qoya classes combine the traditional benefits of fitness – including strength, flexibility, balance, endurance, & agility training – with an empowering approach that is feminine, expressive, & most importantly, fun!

The focus becomes more on enjoying the experience in the present moment vs. all the traditional motivation factors of exercise (losing weight, toning, burning calories, stretching, reducing stress, etc). All those become pleasurable by-products, but not the reason you go. The reason you go is joy.

One of the main differences is that Qoya addresses all parts of a woman: mind, body, emotions, energetics, spirit & soul.

Benefits of Qoya:

  • It is Movement! Anything that gets us moving is a good thing.

  • You’ll feel more open & comfortable in your body.

  • You’ll get in touch with your true essence.

  • You’ll open up to your sensuality.

  • You’ll work through & feel emotions through movement.

  • It is so much fun! In Qoya there is no way you can do it wrong, so there is no pressure to ‘master’ any techniques.

  • You’ll connect to your feminine, creative, wise energy instead of being in your masculine energy of getting things done, striving, pushing & achieving. You’ll feel more balanced & connected to yourself.

  • You’ll be more confident to be yourself, anywhere you are.

  • You’ll discover that magic happen as women are given the space to chat, connect & share.
